City of Jarrell Observes Juneteenth – Office Closure Notice

Posted on June 18, 2025

June 19
In honor of Juneteenth, the City of Jarrell will be closed on Thursday, June 19, as we join communities across the nation in commemorating the end of slavery in the United States.

Juneteenth is a day of reflection, education, and celebration of freedom, resilience, and progress. It marks the moment in 1865 when news of emancipation finally reached the last enslaved individuals in Galveston, Texas—more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued.

Let us take this time to recognize our shared history and continue working together toward unity, equality, and justice for all.

City services will resume regular hours on Friday, June 20 at 8:00 a.m.. Thank you for your understanding.
