GENERAL PURPOSE: |
Under the direction of the City Manager, the Director of Finance is responsible for planning, implementing, managing, and controlling all financial activities of the City.
SUPERVISION: |
This position supervises personnel.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: |
Facilitates the budget process, including the calendar, revenue estimates, expense estimates, budget presentations, benchmarking, property tax rate calculations, and compilation of the annual budget document.
Manages and oversees financial aspects of the capital improvement plan and provides reporting on the financial status of capital projects.
Provides leadership and oversight of short and long-term financial objectives.
Monitors Citywide budget compliance and works with departments on budgetary concerns.
Gathers, interprets, and prepares data for studies, reports, and recommendations. Prepares and updates a variety of studies, reports, and budget related information for decision making purposes.
Reviews City Council Agenda items for budgetary and fiscal compliance.
Prepares and presents budget reports and analyses to the City Council.
Direct and oversee all aspects of the finance and accounting functions of the organization to ensure compliance with laws and financial regulations.
Evaluate and advise on the implementation of new programs and strategies.
Oversees financial policies including investment and purchasing.
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws for financial and tax reporting.
Work with Auditor to provide information for a timely annual audit.
Performs other duties as assigned.
WHAT WE OFFER:
Salary Range: Up to $110,000, Based On Experience, Education, And Related Qualifications
